All-rounder Faheem Ashraf delivered a match-defining spell, picking up four wickets for just 25 runs, as Quetta Gladiators restricted Islamabad United to a modest 157/9 in the 23rd match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 at Gaddafi Stadium.
After being put in to bat first, Islamabad United got off to a flying start, courtesy of a brisk 58-run partnership between Sahibzada Farhan and Kyle Mayers. However, their momentum was halted when Abrar Ahmed dismissed Mayers for 22. Faheem Ashraf then turned the game with a double breakthrough in his first over, removing Colin Munro and Salman Ali Agha.
United struggled to recover as wickets continued to fall. Farhan top-scored with 39 off 24 balls, while Mohammad Nawaz added a fighting 49 off 34 balls, including one four and five sixes. Despite a late 26-run stand with Jason Holder, Nawaz’s efforts weren’t enough to push the total beyond 157.
Faheem Ashraf led Quetta’s bowling attack with his four-wicket haul. He received support from Khurram Shahzad, Abrar Ahmed, Saud Shakeel, and Kyle Jamieson, who took one wicket each, ensuring United never fully capitalized on their strong start.
