Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) clinched a thrilling 4-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 21 of IPL 2025, delivering one of the most exciting contests of the season.
Batting first, LSG posted their second-highest total in IPL history—238 for 3—thanks to a breathtaking unbeaten knock of 87* off just 36 balls by Nicholas Pooran. Mitchell Marsh also played a key role with a solid 81, anchoring the top order and setting the platform for a big score.
In response, KKR came out all guns blazing. Ajinkya Rahane (61) and Venkatesh Iyer (45) powered the team to 90 runs in the powerplay. However, a sudden middle-order collapse, where they lost 5 wickets for just 23 runs, derailed their momentum.
Rinku Singh kept hopes alive with a fighting 38* off 15 balls, but the LSG bowlers held their nerve in the death overs to seal a memorable win. For his explosive innings, Nicholas Pooran was named Player of the Match.
