Sahibzada Farhan was the top scorer for United, smashing 53 runs off 35 balls with 7 boundaries and 2 sixes. Colin Munro followed closely with an explosive knock of 48 off just 25 balls, including 5 fours and 3 sixes, striking at 192.00.
Jason Holder also played a key role in the death overs, remaining unbeaten on 32 off 14 balls, while Haider Ali added a quickfire 33 off 16.
On the bowling side for Multan Sultans, Usama Mir and Chris Jordan picked up 2 wickets each, while David Willey and Mohammad Hasnain claimed one apiece. Despite some late resistance, Islamabad managed to cross the 200-run mark, setting up a thrilling chase for Multan.
Multan Sultans now need 203 runs to win in what promises to be an exciting second innings.
