Quetta Gladiators Set 143-Run Target for Karachi Kings

Quetta Gladiators managed to post 142 runs in 19.3 overs against Karachi Kings, setting a target of 143 runs in the 15th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Batting first after being put in by Karachi Kings, Quetta had a poor start as their top order collapsed quickly. Captain Saud Shakeel could only manage 6 runs, while Finn Allen and Rilee Rossouw departed cheaply for 0 and 10 runs respectively. Kusal Mendis played a brief counterattacking innings, scoring 36 off 22 balls, laced with 5 fours and 2 sixes.

The only significant resistance came from Faheem Ashraf, who played a fiery knock of 43 runs off 27 deliveries, smashing 4 sixes and 2 fours. Hasan Nawaz also chipped in with 35 runs from 34 balls, but apart from these efforts, the Gladiators’ batting lineup failed to deliver.

Karachi Kings were brilliant with the ball. Hasan Ali led the attack with an impressive spell, picking up 3 wickets for 33 runs in 3.3 overs. Mir Hamza and Abbas Afridi took 2 wickets each, while Mohammad Nabi’s spin proved effective with figures of 2 for 21 in 4 overs. Fawad Ali also got a wicket, keeping the pressure on throughout.

With 143 needed for victory, Karachi Kings will be confident of chasing the target down on a decent batting pitch. Quetta Gladiators, however, will look to fight back with the ball and defend the total to stay in contention in PSL 10.
