In a disappointing turn of events in the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Babar Azam set an unwanted record.
In the second match of PSL 10, played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Babar Azam was dismissed for a duck (zero runs) while facing Mohammad Amir’s delivery against Quetta Gladiators. This dismissal has now placed Babar Azam at the top of the list for the most ducks (dismissed without scoring) in PSL history.
Babar Azam has now surpassed Lahore Qalandars’ captain Shaheen Afridi and has equaled the number of ducks held by Peshawar Zalmi’s former wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal.
The record for the most ducks in PSL history is currently held by Islamabad United’s all-rounder, Imad Wasim, who has been dismissed for a duck 12 times. Following him are former Peshawar Zalmi fast bowler Wahab Riaz, who has been dismissed for zero on 10 occasions.
