Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell, who is representing Punjab Kings in the ongoing IPL 2025 season, has been fined 25% of his match fee by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. The incident occurred during a recent match between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings.
Maxwell was found guilty under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which addresses the misuse of fixtures and fittings during a match. He admitted to the Level 1 offense, which pertains to misconduct, and accepted the penalty after it was approved by the match referee. This marks the second such penalty in Maxwell’s IPL career.
Despite this setback for the player, Punjab Kings secured a win over Chennai Super Kings in the match, continuing their strong campaign in the tournament.
