ICC Names Match Officials for Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Pakistan

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the match officials for the upcoming Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, scheduled to take place in Lahore, Pakistan, from April 9 to 19.

Matches will be played across two venues in Lahore, with the officiating panel consisting of 10 umpires and 3 match referees. Notably, Faisal Khan Afridi and Saleema Imtiaz will represent Pakistan among the umpires. Saleema Imtiaz created history last year by becoming the first Pakistani woman to join the ICC Panel of Umpires.

The match referees for the tournament include Ali Naqvi, Shandre Fritz, and Trudi Anderson, ensuring a balanced and experienced officiating team for the qualifiers.

This marks a significant step for women’s cricket in Pakistan, both in terms of hosting international events and featuring in the global officiating setup.
