Lahore – The Punjab Assembly has approved a resolution for the construction of a five-star hotel near Gaddafi Stadium, aiming to ease traffic congestion and improve logistics for players and visitors.
The resolution was presented by government member Shoaib Siddiqui during a session of the assembly. The proposal highlighted the frequent traffic issues caused by the transportation of players from distant hotels to Gaddafi Stadium during major sporting events. The congestion often disrupts city traffic and, in some cases, delays critical medical emergencies.
According to the resolution, a five-star hotel in close proximity to Gaddafi Stadium would significantly reduce travel time for athletes and officials, while also benefiting the local infrastructure and hospitality sector.
The move is seen as a step towards modernizing Lahore’s sports facilities and accommodating international standards. The assembly session was later adjourned until 2 PM the following day.
