Quetta Gladiators' Spinner Usman Tariq Reported for Suspect Bowling Action

In a significant development during the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, Quetta Gladiators’ spinner Usman Tariq has been reported for a suspect bowling action. The report was filed by the on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Chris Brown during Quetta’s match against Lahore Qalandars.

The concern regarding Tariq’s bowling action was raised during the game, prompting the umpires to submit an official report in accordance with the PSL’s code of conduct and ICC regulations. As per the rules, Usman Tariq is now under scrutiny and must adhere to the standard review process for suspect actions.

If he is reported again while still under observation, he will be suspended from bowling in PSL matches until he undergoes further evaluation. Following a suspension, the player will be required to visit an ICC-accredited biomechanics laboratory, where his bowling action will be analyzed in detail. He can only resume bowling in official fixtures if he clears the testing and receives formal approval.

This development poses a challenge for Quetta Gladiators, who rely on Tariq’s spin bowling in the middle overs. The franchise has not issued an official statement yet but is expected to cooperate fully with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and follow all required procedures.
