Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli has set a new benchmark in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by becoming the first player ever to hit 1000 boundaries, including both fours and sixes. Representing Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kohli achieved this historic feat during the match against Delhi Capitals at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Kohli smashed a six off Axar Patel on the third ball of the fourth over, marking his 1000th boundary in IPL. So far, he has played 257 matches, scoring 8,190 runs with 721 fours and 280 sixes. This milestone adds to his already illustrious career, as he continues to be the highest run-scorer and the batter with the most fours in IPL history.
Among players who have participated in all 18 IPL seasons, Kohli stands out not only for his longevity but also for his consistency. In terms of sixes, he ranks third behind Chris Gayle (357) and Rohit Sharma (282).
This record underlines Kohli’s dominance and unmatched contribution to the IPL and T20 cricket globally.
